KYOTO (TR) – Following the bust of a pimping service featuring teenage girls, Kyoto Prefectural Police on Thursday arrested the head of a kindergarten on child prostitution charges, reports Sports Hochi (April 30).
On January 17, Makio Kumamoto, the 37-year-old principal at Biwako Kirara kindergarten in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture, paid 20,000 yen to a third-year middle school student (15) for an illicit encounter at a hotel in Kyoto’s Fushimi Ward.
Kumamoto, a resident of Nishikyo Ward in Kyoto, denies the allegations. “I thought she was 18 years old,” the suspect is quoted by police.
On Monday, Kyoto police arrested Keisuke Naga, the 26-year-old manager of an online deai-kei prostitution club staffed with minors, on prostitution charges and child welfare violations, according to Jiji Press (April 30).
Naga has reportedly admitted to the allegations, telling police that Kumamoto was a regular customer.
According to police, Kumamoto had requested underage girls from Naga’s service on more than 20 occasions since April of last year. He paid between 14,000 and 30,000 yen for each session. The 15-year-old girl from the January encounter was requested more than 10 times, she told police.
Over the past two and a half years, the business run by Naga collected 50 million yen in revenue, police said.
