Chinese national suspected of ordering robbery

TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a Chinese national for allegedly ordering a burglary in the capital, reports Fuji News Network (March 28).

According to the Mukojima Police Station, Kakan Ou, 26, allegedly ordered a 19-year-old boy, also Chinese, and a third suspect to break into the residence of a woman in her 60s in Sumida Ward on March 13.

During the incident, the two perpetrators attacked the woman, resulting in broken bones to her chest and other injuries that will require one month to heal.

“I have no knowledge [of the matter],” Ou was quoted by police in denying allegations of robbery resulting in injury.

Police arrested the boy and his cohort two days after the crime. During questioning, the boy said that Ou, whom he had met several months ago, gave the orders for the crime.

Ou, a resident of Soka City, Saitama Prefecture, was apprehended on March 27. In footage captured by the network, the suspect is seen making an obscene gesture at the camera.
