AICHI (TR) – Aichi Prefectural Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of a corpse inside a home in Hirata City, reports the Chunichi Shimbun (July 29).
At 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, officers from the Hirata Police Station discovered skeletal remains lying face-up on a bed on the second floor of the residence, located in the Yanabetakayamacho area.
The body was beneath a blanket and clothed in a long-sleeve shirt and shorts. There were no external wounds on the body.
About an hour before the discovery, a man contacted police, saying that he had not been able to reach his father for about a year.
Police are now working to confirm the identity of the body and determine the cause of death.
