SAITAMA (TR) – Saitama Prefectural Police launched an investigation after the discovery of the body of a woman in a river in Kawagoe City on Saturday, reports TBS News (Apr. 12).
Around noon, a man fishing in the Iruma River in the Fukuda area called police. “A person is floating in the river,” the caller said.
Emergency responders arrived and found the woman floating in the river and pulled her out. However, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, the woman was estimated to be in her 30s to 50s. Standing approximately 160 centimeters tall, she had a slender build. There were no visible external injuries on her body.
The woman was not wearing clothes or shoes.
Police are now working to identify her.
