Tokyo landowner cleaning up finds ‘what appears to be a skull’

TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police launched an investigation after the discovery of what appears to be a human skull on a property in Suginami ward on Tuesday.

At around 4:10 p.m., the owner of a vacant house on the property in the Ogikubo area called police. “I was cleaning up my house and found what appears to be a skull,” the caller said.

When police officers rushed to the scene, they found what appeared to be a skull inside the house. The skull had what seemed to be human teeth intact.

Police are now seeking to determine whether the remains are human or not. Questioning of the owner is ongoing.

The scene of the discovery is in a densely populated residential area about 1 kilometer from JR Ogikubo Station.
