Thief swipes Pokémon cards in 3-minute smash-and-grab at Tochigi shop

TOCHIGI (TR) – Police here are hunting for a suspect who broke into a trading card shop and made off with a haul of Pokémon cards in a rapid three-minute heist, reports TBS News (May 23).

The crime, which took place early Friday at a dealer located on Station East Avenue in Oyama City, was captured on the store’s security cameras.

Footage shows the suspect prowling through the shop’s backroom, hastily stuffing merchandise into a bag. Inside the store, display cases were smashed, leaving shards of glass scattered across the floor.

According to the company, a total of 38 items were stolen during the three-minute raid, including highly sought-after Pokémon cards.

Investigating officers believe the suspect gained entry to the building by shattering the glass near a window lock. Police are currently analyzing the security footage and pursuing the suspect on suspicion of theft.
