Teenage couple found stabbed to death in Okayama bedroom in suspected murder-suicide

OKAYAMA (TR) – Police have launched an investigation after a teenage couple was found stabbed to death inside an Okayama City residence in what is believed to be a murder-suicide, reports Setonaikai TV (May 11).

At approximately 8:40 p.m. on Sunday, the mother of the girl, 17, found her collapsed and bleeding in her bedroom at their home in Naka Ward. Her 17-year-old boyfriend was also collapsed and bleeding inside the room.

Both high school students had sustained a single stab wound to the left side of the chest. They were rushed to a local hospital but were later pronounced dead.

During a search of the scene, investigators recovered a single knife left on the bed.

According to police, the victims attended the same high school in Okayama City and were in a romantic relationship. While officially treating the case as a murder, detectives are strongly pursuing the possibility of a murder-suicide.
