SHIZUOKA — Police here have arrested a 48-year-old unemployed man on suspicion of assault after he allegedly threw a shoe at a female acquaintance during a late-night dispute, reports Shizuoka Asahi TV (May 10).
The incident took place at a residence in Fuji City at approximately midnight Sunday, according to police.
During questioning, the suspect denied the allegations. He told police, “I don’t remember.”
Investigators believe the suspect and the 40-year-old victim had been spending time together prior to the incident. A heated argument erupted between the two just as the man was preparing to head home, culminating in him hurling his footwear at the woman.
The victim immediately contacted authorities, leading to the man’s arrest by responding officers.
