NAGASAKI (TR) – Nagasaki Prefectural Police have arrested a 22-year-old man from Saitama Prefecture for allegedly paying a high school boy for sex and recording the encounter, reports the Nishi Nippon Shimbun (June 18).
The unnamed suspect, a part-time worker residing in Asaka City, is accused of meeting the victim at a hotel in Nagasaki Prefecture on July 31, 2023.
According to the Isahaya Police Station, the suspect handed 5,000 yen in cash to the high school boy, engaging in sexual acts despite knowing the victim was under 18, and filmed the incident with a smartphone.
Upon his arrest on June 16 on suspicion of violating the anti-child prostitution and pornography laws, the suspect denied the allegations. “I have no recollection of doing such acts with anyone under 18,” he told investigators.
The two reportedly became acquainted through social media.
The illicit recording came to light after a different man in Nagasaki Prefecture, who was under investigation for a completely unrelated case, was found to be in possession of it.
Police have opted to withhold the suspect’s identity because he was 19 years old at the time of the offense, legally classifying him as a “specified juvenile” under the Juvenile Act.
