SHIGA (TR) – Police have arrested a 55-year-old Otsu City official on suspicion of secretly filming the lower body of a teenage girl aboard a JR Biwako Line train, reports Mainichi Broadcasting System (May 10).
Yasuyuki Matsuura was taken into custody for allegedly violating Shiga Prefecture’s nuisance prevention ordinance.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. While riding a local train traveling between JR Yamashina and Ishiyama stations, Matsuura allegedly aimed his smartphone at a teenage girl sitting in the seat opposite him, with the intent of capturing tosatsu (voyeur) footage of her underwear.
The incident came to light when the young victim reported the matter to staff at Kusatsu Station. Police officers rushed to the scene and inspected Matsuura’s smartphone, where they discovered a video clip showing the girl’s thighs.
During police questioning, Matsuura denied the allegations. Authorities are continuing to investigate the exact details surrounding the incident.
