SHIMANE (TR) – A man allegedly tried to abduct a 15-year-old middle school girl by threatening to kill her with a knife, police said on Monday.
Hirotsugu Fukushima, 34, is accused of telling the girl he would kill her on a street in Izumoshi City on Friday afternoon, TV Asahi reports (Dec. 12).
Police received an emergency call from the girl the same day saying Fukushima, who has admitted to the charges, “prodded me with a knife and threatened me.”
Fukushima became a key suspect based on an analysis of security camera footage after an investigation revealed there were multiple sightings of a red vehicle that fled the scene, police said.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the case and Fukushima’s motives.
