TOKYO (TR) – The agency for teenage model Yumena Momose on Friday announced the suspension of her work activities due to revelations that she has been smoking and drinking.
With photos appearing on social media appearing to show Momose smoking, the agency told TBS News (Feb. 7), “We have confirmed with Momose that the photos of her smoking that have been circulating on social media are genuine. We have also confirmed that she has been drinking alcohol.”
Momose is 15 years old. Regarding the fact that she is a minor, the agency stated, “We take this compliance violation extremely seriously.”
The agency added that Momose is remorseful about her actions. “We will not fire her, but will instead provide her with a period of rehabilitation and provide guidance and supervision to help her fulfill her responsibilities as a member of society,” the agency said.
