Masked duo smash Aichi pawnshop showcases, make off with jewelry

AICHI (TR) – Police are hunting for two men who robbed a pawn shop in Kariya City before fleeing with stolen goods, reports Nippon News Network (May 7).

At approximately 7:35 p.m. on Thursday, the two suspects stormed into the pawn shop located in the Shinsakaemachi area.

Armed with what appeared to be metal pipes, they shattered the shop’s showcases and snatched multiple items, including necklaces, before speeding away in a getaway vehicle.

The 49-year-old male store manager, who was inside the shop at the time of the heist, escaped uninjured.

According to police, both perpetrators are described as being of average build and were wearing black jackets and face masks.

Authorities have launched a full-scale robbery investigation and are currently tracking the whereabouts of the fleeing suspects.
