Man arrested for dumping skeletonized corpse of mother near Saga Airport

SAGA (TR) – Police have arrested a 53-year-old unemployed man on suspicion of abandoning the skeletonized remains of his 79-year-old mother near the Saga Airport in Saga City earlier this year, reports TV Asahi (May 14).

Sometime between April 16 and May 12, South Korean national Kim Jin-il, who also goes by the Japanese alias Yasunori Kanemoto, is accused of dumping the body of his mother, Seo Go-eun (Japanese alias Fumiko Kanemoto), on an embankment in Kawasoemachi.

Upon his arrest on suspicion of abandoning a corpse, Kim admitted to the allegations, police said.

According to police, Kim’s actions leading up to the gruesome discovery were highly suspicious. On May 8, he visited a local police station to file a missing person report for his mother.

However, just four days later, Kim contacted authorities himself. “There is a corpse on a bank near Saga Airport,” he said.

Responding officers discovered the elderly woman’s remains, which had already become skeletonized.

Investigators are now looking into the circumstances surrounding the mother’s death, with police eyeing potential murder charges as the investigation continues.
