TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 38-year-old man for allegedly trespassing into a women’s student dormitory in Toshima Ward earlier this year, reports Nippon News Network (Sep. 2).
At around 2:00 a.m. on May 11, Kenichiro Takahashi allegedly breached the dormitory, which houses female university and vocational school students.
During police questioning, Takahashi has exercised his right to remain silent, authorities said.
According to the Mejiro Station, Takahashi is believed to have climbed over the 2.5-meter-tall wall to enter the premises with the intent of committing indecent acts against the female students living there.
However, his intrusion was cut short when the male facility manager, aged in his 60s, noticed the disturbance after sensors on the property were triggered and confronted him.
Upon being discovered, Takahashi shoved the manager out of the way. He then scrambled up a water tank ladder to vault back over the perimeter wall and flee the scene.
The victim sustained a minor injury to his right elbow.
