Kobe teacher accused of filming women’s cleavage with spy glasses

HYOGO (TR) – Hyogo Prefectural Police have arrested a 53-year-old middle school teacher on suspicion of secretly filming a woman using camera-equipped eyeglasses inside a shopping mall, reports TV Asahi (July 21).

The incident took place at a mall in Itami City. According to police, Kazuo Kogami, a municipal middle school teacher from Kobe City, was loitering suspiciously close to a 26-year-old woman in the mall’s toy capsule corner.

Another male shopper noticed Kogami’s unnatural behavior and confronted him. When Kogami admitted to illicitly filming the woman, the bystander immediately contacted the police.

Investigators revealed that Kogami was using a pair of spy glasses equipped with a micro-camera embedded in the bridge between the lenses, which was designed to start recording at the push of a button.

Upon his arrest, Kogami admitted to the allegations and confessed to a decades-long fetish for conducting tosatsu (voyeurism).

“For nearly 20 years, I have been interested in women’s cleavage, and I had been secretly filming using a pen-type camera,” Kogami told investigators.

When questioned as to why he traveled more than 20 kilometers from his home city of Kobe to commit the crime in Itami, the teacher explained, “I thought I would do it at a store where students from the school I work at wouldn’t come.”

Police have confiscated the spy glasses, which reportedly contained illicit footage of multiple other women. Investigators are currently probing the device and looking into additional crimes Kogami may have committed over the past two decades.
