Half-naked Turkish man arrested for trespassing on train tracks with tools

AICHI — Police in Aisai City have arrested a 32-year-old Turkish national after he trespassed onto a railway track half-naked while carrying tools, causing major disruptions to the Monday morning commute, reports Tokai TV (Apr. 13).

At around 7:45 a.m., authorities received multiple emergency calls reporting a person wandering on the tracks near a railway bridge over the Nikko River along the Meitetsu Tsushima Line.

Responding officers rushed to the scene and apprehended Isik Ozgur, whose occupation is unknown, on the spot. He was taken into custody on suspicion of violating the Railway Operation Act.

According to police, Ozgur was found bare-chested and holding unspecified tools without any justifiable reason to be inside the restricted railway zone.

Investigators are currently questioning him to determine his motive, with speculation mounting over whether he was attempting to steal copper wiring or railway equipment.

The incident dealt a direct hit to the morning rush hour. Train operations on the Meitetsu Tsushima Line were forced to suspend service between Sukaguchi and Tsushima stations for approximately one hour, affecting the commutes of roughly 2,500 passengers.
