HYOGO (TR) – Hyogo Prefectural Police launched an investigation earlier this week after an elderly couple was found collapsed in their home in Kawanishi City. The wife was later confirmed dead at the hospital, reports Sun TV (Apr. 13).
According to the police, at around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, the couple’s second daughter discovered the elderly couple collapsed in the bathroom of the home in Yuyamadai when she visited to check on them.
The wife, 84, had marks made by a rope around her neck and was transported to the hospital. She was later confirmed dead.
The husband, also 84, was found with a knife wound in his left chest. He is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
The two were found fully clothed and facing each other. The front door was locked when the daughter arrived.
No suicide note was found at the scene. Police are investigating the cause of death of the wife and plan to question the husband once he recovers.
