CHIBA (TR) – Chiba Prefectural Police have arrested a male teacher at a prefectural high school for allegedly groping a female high school student on board a bus traveling through Urayasu City, reports Nippon News Network (Dec. 12).
On Wednesday night, Yuma Hayata, a 29-year-old teacher at Chiba Prefectural Chiba Girls’ High School, allegedly engaged in indecent acts, including groping the female high school student over her underwear, on board a bus traveling through the city.
Upon his arrest on suspicion of indecent assault, Hayata denied the charges. He said, “I did not commit any lewd acts whatsoever.”
Hayata and the victim were not acquainted before the incident.
According to police, Hayata committed the alleged crime while standing next to the female student. As the incident unfolded, she yelled, “That’s molestation!” Another passenger then called police.
An examination of dashboard camera footage by police led to the arrest of Hayata.
