KUMAMOTO (TR) – Kumamoto Prefectural Police last week launched an investigation after the charred body of a man was found near a car that had caught fire at a dam in Kikuchi City.
Around 10:45 a.m. on March 14, a person out walking reported to the police that there was a car on fire and a body at a plaza on the north side of Ryumon Dam in the Banshaguchi area.
Emergency personnel arriving at the scene found the man with his entire body burned lying on his side near the vehicle. He was confirmed dead at the scene.
Police are considering that the case is the result of foul play, an accident or suicide. Police are also working quickly to identify the body.
