TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police are seeking the perpetrator behind a stabbing incident that left one woman with slight injuries inside a Tokyo Metro subway station on Monday, reports Nippon News Network (April 4).

At approximately 7:30 a.m., an unknown perpetrator stabbed the woman, a 25-year-old company employee, in the left side of her buttocks with a knife on a platform of the Tozai Line at Kasai Station, located in Edogawa Ward.

The incident occurred as the woman was boarding a train. She alerted personnel five stops later at Monzennakacho Station after experiencing pain, according to the Yomiuri Shimbun (April 5). Her injuries are expected to require one week to fully heal.

Police are now looking for eyewitnesses and examining security camera footage in search of clues in the case. Anyone with information is advised to call 03-3687-0110.
