TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 41-year-old man for allegedly assaulting a woman on a street in the the Roppongi entertainment district of Minato Ward, reports Fuji News Network (July 12).
At 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Hideki Kamachi is alleged to have repeatedly beat a 21-year-old woman after he stopped her outside an entrance to Tokyo Metro’s Roppong Station. Once the woman lost consciousness, he then then kicked her in the face with his knee.
The woman suffered bone fractures in several locations of her face, including a broken jaw.
According to police, Kamachi was drunk at the time of the incident. In commenting on the allegations, he has denied the charges, saying, ” I don’t remember anything.”
The woman, who is not acquainted with the suspect, told police that she remembers bumping into someone just prior to the incident.
