TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have launched a murder investigation after a woman found collapsed in Nakano Ward with stab wounds died shortly thereafter, reports TBS News (Nov. 3).
At just past midnight on Nov. 3, police received a call about a “suspicious person outside” at an apartment building. Officers arriving at the scene found the woman, believed to be a Chinese national aged in her 20s, collapsed and bleeding in a second-floor corridor.
The woman died about two hours after arriving at a nearby hospital.
According to police, the woman had what appear to be stab wounds from a knife around her neck. “I heard a woman scream,” a person living in the immediate area is quoted.
Police are now working to confirm the identity of the woman.
The location of the incident is a residential area about one kilometer from JR Nakano Station.
