YAMAGUCHI (TR) – A 67-year-old in custody on suspicion of theft was found by police to have hundreds of pairs of women’s underwear in his residence in Sanyo-Onoda City, reports Nippon News Network (Sept. 28).

On the morning of June 27, Hisaharu Yata allegedly stole an undergarment belonging to a 33-year-old woman, with a value of 500 yen, from a drying machine at a laundromat in Sanyo-Onoda.

The suspect admits to the allegations, according to the Sanyo-Onoda Police Station.

A search by police of the residence of the suspect, who lives alone, revealed more than 330 pairs of women’s underwear.

“I have an interest in women’s underwear,” the suspect was quoted by police.
