SHIMANE (TR) – Shimane Prefectural Police have launched an investigation after three persons were found dead in and around a vehicle parked in Izumo City in what is believed to have been a group suicide, reports TV Asahi (Nov. 20).
At around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, a male company employee walking his dog found a man hanging by his neck from a tree. He later discovered the bodies of a man and a woman in the back seat of vehicle parked in a meadow nearby.
All three persons were later confirmed dead at a nearby hospital.
According to police, the bodies are likely that of an elderly woman and her two sons, reports Nippon News Network (Nov. 20). The key to the vehicle was found in the possession of the man hanging from the tree.
The location of the discovery is about 2.5 kilometers from Izumo Temple.
