SAITAMA (TR) – Saitama Prefectural Police have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of the body of a 58-year-old male in his home in Asaka City, reports the Asahi Shimbun (Sep. 5).
At 4:40 p.m. on Friday, the nude body of Toshiharu Terao was found lying face-up on a tatami mat in the living room by his younger brother. The lower half of the body was wrapped in a towel.
The results of an autopsy revealed the cause of death was determined to be suffocation due to strangulation, according to Nippon News Network (Sep. 5).
The last known contact with the victim a telephone call with his younger brother on Wednesday evening.
