TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police are now searching for a male suspect who robbed a love hotel on Monday in the Kabukicho red-light district of Shinjuku Ward, reports TBS News (Nov. 2).

At approximately 8:00 a.m., the man, whose face was covered in a ski mask, came up from behind a female employee of the hotel, 45, and hit her over the head with a plastic bag containing a can of coffee. He then snatched an envelope with approximately 200,000 yen inside.

The suspect fled the scene after the incident. He is described as measuring approximately 170 centimeters in height, having a thin build, wearing dark clothes and carrying a shoulder bag.

At the time, the woman was calculating the hotel’s daily receipts. She suffered unspecified injuries.
