Man, woman plunge to death from Kabukicho hotel

TOKYO (TR) – A man and woman are believed to have plunged to their deaths from a hotel in Shinjuku Ward on Sunday night.

At around 7:45 p.m., a person reported that “someone had fallen” outside Hotel Livemax in the Kabukicho red-light district, reports TV Asahi (Sep. 2).

Emergency personnel arriving at the scene found that the pair, aged in their late teens to 20s, had suffered severe injuries all over their bodies. They were confirmed dead at the scene, police said.

Police suspect that they leaped together from the 12th floor. They are now working to confirm their identities.

Hotel Livemax is located about 800 meters north of JR Shinjuku Station.
