Kagawa men accused of gang-raping woman in Takamatsu parking garage

KAGAWA (TR) – Kagwawa Prefectural Police have arrested five men over the alleged gang-rape of a woman in her 20s in Takamatsu City last month, reports Nippon News Network (June 26).

Between 3:17 a.m. and 3:40 a.m. on May 25, the five unnamed men, age 24 and 25, allegedly surrounded the woman in a multi-story car park, grabbed her breasts and engaged in sexual intercourse with her.

Among the suspects are a temporary worker from Mitoyo City and an office worker from Marugame City.

Upon their arrests on suspicion of non-consensual indecent assault and non-consensual sexual intercourse, three admitted to the allegations.

The temporary worker said, “It’s mostly correct.” Among the two who deny the allegations, one said, “I do not remember.” The other said that he “did not do it.”

The woman was not acquainted with the men. Afterward, she reported the incident. Police later used security camera footage taken in the area to identify the suspects.

The five suspects, who are believed to be acquaintances, targeted the woman for the purpose of nampa (picking up) before the incident. Police are investigating the possibility that they may have committed other crimes.
