IBARAKI (TR) – Ibaraki Prefectural Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of a corpse inside a burned-out vehicle in Tsuchiura City, reports TBS News (Nov. 26).
At just after midnight on Saturday, emergency services received a tip from a man about “a vehicle on fire” on a road in the Tenomachi area.
After a fire crew extinguished the blaze around two hours later, a corpse was found in the driver’s seat. Due to extensive burns, the gender of the body of was not known.
According to police, the vehicle is registered to a person living near the site of the discovery.
Police are now working to confirm the identity of the person and determine the cause of death.
