TOKYO (TR) – Hyogo prefectural police arrested two employees early Thursday morning at a game center in Amagasaki City for offering gambling in violation of the adult-entertainment law, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Nov. 17).
Officers from the Amagasaki Kita Station took manager Kenji Yatsuo, 50, and staff member Ryu Minamimoto, 23, of Slot Cafe Mickey into custody for offering pachisuro (pachinko slot) gambling while only being licensed as a game center. Dubbed an “underground” club, the establishment allows for high-stake wagering, investigators said.
In addition to management, nine customers seen gambling with cash at 1:15 a.m. on Thursday morning, when police entered the premises, were also arrested. Officers as well seized 25 slot machines.
