NIIGATA (TR) – It started out as a dare; it ended in the discovery of a corpse.
Niigata Prefectural Police launched investigation after a group found a body in a building that used to be a commercial facility in Myoko City over the weekend, reports Nippon News Network (May 25).
At around 11:30 p.m. on May 24, members of the group were testing their nerve when they entered the abandoned commercial facility. “Several young people entered the building, and when they came out, they were talking about a dead body,” one of them reported to police.
According to police, the body was partially skeletal. Due to the stage of decay, the gender and approximate age are unknown. The body was clothed a long-sleeve shirt, pants and shoes. There were no visible injuries.
When the police arrived at the scene, the entrance to the building was unlocked.
Police are working to identify the body. The case is being treated as the result of foul play or an accident.
