TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Monday announced the arrest of the female manager of a hostess club in the Ginza district for unlawful employment, reports TBS News (Oct. 4).
Last month, officers took the manager of club Blue Ribbon, Aya Oji, 48, into custody for employing two Chinese nationals living in Japan via short-term or student visas at the club since April — a violation of the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act.
Zou has admitted to the allegations, investigators said. “Because the customers were attached to the two girls, I thought sales would increase,” the suspect is quoted by police.
The two students were also arrested.
According to police, Blue Ribbon has collected 50 million yen in revenue since its opening last year.
