AICHI (TR) – Aichi Prefectural Police launched an investigation after the discovery of four bodies inside a light passenger vehicle parked in the mountains of Okazaki City, reports TBS News (June 8).
At a little after 4:00 p.m., a man walking along a forest road in Ishiharacho called police. “Someone is collapsed inside a car,” he said.
When police arrived, they found two men, aged approximately in their 40s, in the driver’s and passenger seats. As well, they found two women, aged in their 30s, in the back seat.
All four persons were confirmed dead at the scene. None of the four had any visible injuries.
Police also found burned charcoal briquettes inside the vehicle, which led them to conclude that the incident was a group suicide.
In addition to confirming the identities of the four persons, police are investigating the circumstances that led to the incident.
