CHIBA (TR) – Chiba Prefectural Police last month arrested a truck driver for a string of women’s underwear thefts in Sosa City, reports TBS News (June 25).

Police accused Toru Iwazawa of stealing more than 40 articles of clothing from coin-operated drying machines at a laundromat on May 2. After committing the theft, the suspect then discarded the male garments onto the street.

Iwazawa has admitted to the allegations. “I wanted the women’s underwear,” the suspect is quoted by police.

Iwasawa told police that he has committed the same crime on more than 100 occasions at laundromats in Sosa. A search of the suspect’s home revealed approximately 300 women’s garments, including school-girl sailor uniforms.
