TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Tuesday arrested an architect for hiring a teenage prostitute, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Apr. 9).
At around noon on February 3, Mitsuhiro Kubota, 36, who holds a first-class license in architecture, is accused of paying 50,000 yen for a sex session with a 14-year-old girl at a home in Kanagawa Prefecture — a violation of child pornography and prostitution laws.
Kubota, who was aware of the girl’s age at the time, has reportedly admitted to the allegations. “I have an interest in young girls,” the suspect is quoted by officers from the Machida Police Station.
The pair met through a matchmaking site in January.
Police discovered 100,000 yen in the possession of the girl, and suspect that she has engaged in enjo kosai, or compensated dating, on multiple occasions.
