CHIBA (TR) – Chiba Prefectural Police have arrested two Afghan nationals who are suspected members of a luxury vehicle theft ring, reports Fuji News Network (Apr. 27).
On April 25, police arrested Momand Miaashraf and a second unnamed Afghan national on suspicion of storing two stolen Land Cruisers on the premises of an automotive company in Ichihara City.
According to police, the vehicles had been stolen from Gunma Prefecture and another location. Police allege that the suspects knew the vehicles were hot property.

When investigators entered the premises, the Land Cruisers were loaded onto the back of a truck.
Police are investigating the possibility that a foreign theft ring was using the location to store the stolen vehicles for sale overseas.
