Japanese woman to appear in court for kissing BTS star

KOREA (TR) – Police in Seoul on Friday said that they are requesting a Japanese woman to appear in court for allegedly kissing the BTS star Jin.

The incident took place at a “free hugs” event held for about 1,000 people in June of last year. Jin, whose real name is Kim Seok-jin, had just completed the mandatory 18-month military service.

The free hugs were provided by Jin, 32, to attendees in a lineup one by one. When it was the unnamed woman’s turn, she suddenly kissed the star.

The Songpa Police Station told wire service AP that the woman, aged in her 50s, is requested to appear for questioning on suspicion of sexual harassment.

Footage showing a shocked Jin after the incident gathered substantial attention on social media.

“My lips touched his neck,” the woman wrote on a blog site, according Yonhap News Agency. “His skin was so soft.”
