TOKYO (TR) – A 47-year-old woman accused of slandering of singer Chiemi Hori online by sending a large number of messages to her official blog has been further accused of obstruction of business, reports the Yomiuri Shimbun (Feb. 6).
On February 5, police accused the unnamed woman, a resident of Tama City, of sending a total of about 16,000 messages to the comments section of Hori’s blog between April 2023 and July last year.
She is suspected of making it difficult for the blog management company to select messages to be made public, thereby obstructing their business.
The suspect has remained silent during the investigation. Her involvement was revealed from the IP address used to send the messages.
On January 15, police first arrested the woman for posting slanderous comments about Hori, calling her “rotten” and “a liar” on an online bulletin board from July to August 2022.
