WAKAYAMA (TR) – In a crackdown on the exploitation of minors, Wakayama Prefectural Police on Sunday arrested an organized crime member and two other suspects, all of whom have been charged with illegally operating clubs in Wakayama City, reports the Sankei Shimbun (June 29).
Police took Junya Taneya, a 40 year-old member of the Yamaguchi-gumi, and Atsushi Akamatsu, 21, for allegedly employing a 16-year-old girl to serve customers at hostess club Soleil, located in the Yoshida district, on May 22 and 23.
Police also arrested Yuta Tsunematsu, the 23-year-old former manager of Final, a fuzoku (sex-related) parlor, for operating an adult-entertainment business without a proper license.
Early Sunday morning, officers raided both businesses and found multiple girls under 18 years of age working inside.
