TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Sunday announced the arrest of a 38-year-old male for drugging and robbing a female sex worker at a love hotel in Ota Ward last month, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Feb. 2).

On December 17, Teppei Nakayubi is alleged to have dropped a sleeping powder into a drink consumed by the woman, 20, before robbing her of 350,000 yen in cash.

According to officers from the Omori Police Station, the money had just been given to the victim by the suspect to repay a debt.

Nakayubi became a customer of the victim one month before. Inside the hotel room that night, she indicated to him that she was tired. He then offered her the drug-laced beverage, which he claimed to be a vitamin drink.

Nakayubi reportedly admits to only repaying the loan, police said.
