IBARAKI (TR) – Ibaraki Prefectural Police on Thursday arrested the chief of a human rights NPO for forcing an 18-year-old girl to work as a prostitute, reports Sankei Sports (Feb. 27)
Officers took Masaya Suzuki, the 61-year-old manager of out-call service Celebrity Mistress, and employee Soichiro Hatsuzawa, 22, into custody for allegedly contracting the girl, a third-year high school student, to provide full sex to approximately 60 male customers over a three-month period beginning in December.
Suzuki also serves as the chairman of the Ibaraki Human Rights Protection Support Association, which assists poor and destitute people, including children and foreigners, living in Japan.
Suzuki has reportedly denied one part of the allegations. “I did not make a contract with her,” the suspect is quoted by police, according to TBS News (Feb. 27).
According to police, Suzuki made a copy of the girl’s form of identification during an interview and warned her against breaking the contract. Prefectural police have since taken the girl into protective care.
Celebrity Mistress is a “delivery health” service in which a prostitute will be dispatched to a customer at a hotel or residence. According to the establishment’s Web site, prices start at 15,000 yen for the first 80 minutes.
Police filed papers for the case with prosecutors at the Mito District Court on Friday.
