OKAKA (TR) – Comedians from talent agency Yoshimoto Kogyo have been questioned by Tokyo Metropolitan Police on suspicion of involvement in illegal wagering, it was learned on Wednesday.
According to investigators, Yoshimoto Kogyo comedians Dai Yoshimoto, one half of the duo Daitaku, and Shun Nakamura of 9th Avenue Retro are suspected of playing at illegal online casinos.
Also on Wednesday, Yoshimoto Kogyo announced that it was investigating staff members with outside lawyers for possible compliance violations.
Yoshimoto Kogyo commented on its website, “As it has been discovered that some of our staff are suspected of violating compliance, we are currently investigating the facts with the help of external lawyers and others. As a result, some of our staff will be suspending their activities until the facts are determined.”
