OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police on Wednesday arrested two suspects, including an organized crime member, for the assault of a seller of illegal pornographic DVDs, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Sep. 16).
On March 10, Yoji Nishimura, a 60-year-old member of the Yamaguchi-gumi, and Keiji Katayama, 67, are alleged to have confined the dealer, 43, and beaten him inside a car parked in Naniwa Ward. The victim sustained minor injuries to the face.
Police have arrested five other suspects in the case.
In January and February, the suspects demanded three million yen from the victim, who only paid one third of that amount. The crime resulted during the collection of the remaining amount.
According to police, Katayama had a business problem with the manager, who sells DVDs that are in violation of the law since genitalia is not obscured, and consulted with Nishimura to assist in the collection of the money.
