TOKYO (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of two organized crime members over a stabbing incident at a beach two months ago that left a rival gang member dead, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Sept. 25).
Officers took Gosuke Yoshida, 30, a member of the Sumiyoshi-kai organized crime group, a fellow gang member, 28, and one other suspect into custody on murder charges.
At approximately 8:00 p.m. on July 14, prefectural police received an emergency call from a woman who said a man had been stabbed in front of a beach house in Zushi City. The man, a 30-year-old member of the Inagawa-kai organized crime group, was bleeding from his head.
Another gang member, in his 20s, was found to have also been stabbed on a nearby road. He received wounds to his abdomen and back.
The two victims were transferred to a local hospital, where the 30-year-old died two hours later.
Both suspects have reportedly denied the allegations, saying they have no recollection of the incident.
