SAITAMA (TR) – Saitama Prefectural Police on Sunday announced the arrest of two male suspects, including an organized crime member, for a shooting incident in Saitama City two years ago, reports the Sankei Shimbun (May 24).

Officers took Koji Muraki, a 50-year-old member of the Yamaguchi-gumi, and a Korean national, 57, into custody for the illegal possession and discharge of a firearm.

At approximately 8:00 a.m. on October 6, the suspects are alleged to have used a pistol to shoot the outer walls of an office of the Kyokuto-kai organized crime group and the adjoining residence of a 69-year-old male in Iwatsuki Ward.

Investigators are now attempting to determine whether there had been trouble between the two gangs.
