NAGOYA (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Tuesday raided the headquarters of an affiliate gang of the recently troubled Yamaguchi-gumi on suspicion of extortion, reports TBS News (Nov. 3).
At approximately 11:00 a.m., investigators entered the office of the Kodo-kai, located in Nakamura Ward, in search of evidence connected to the extortion of 500,000 yen from a 28-year-old man inside a bar in Tokyo’s Minato Ward in August.
In connection with the case, police had already arrested Hajime Kamiya, a 37-year-old Kodo-kai member, and two other suspects.
Kamiya and the other suspects also allegedly slashed the victim’s right hand several times with a knife. His injuries required two weeks to heal.
