TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of a gang member for the sale and possession of drugs, reports TBS News (Apr. 24).
Officers took Yoshiyuki Kubota, a 36-year-old member of the Sumiyoshi-kai organized crime group, and one other suspect into custody for the selling stimulant drugs and marijuana from a one-room apartment in Nishi Shin-Koiwa, Katsushika Ward in March.
According to police, the suspects met customers in front of a nearby convenience store to complete the transactions.
Kubota has reportedly denied the allegations.
According to Jiji Press (Apr. 24), the suspects collected more than 30 million yen in revenue from over 200 customers since September of 2011.
