OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police have arrested an organized crime member for employing middle school students at a specialty hostess club in Kita Ward, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Nov. 25).

On November 11 and 12, gang member Sho Mori, who manages Stylish Bar Felice, is alleged to have employed three girls, aged between 14-15, to hand out advertising leaflets in the street and serve customers.

Stylish Bar Felice, located in the Sonezaki area, is classified as a “girl’s bar,” which means it is licensed as a drinking establishment but offers services approaching that of an adult-entertainment club.

Mori, who has been charged with violating child welfare laws and the Labor Standards Act, admits to the allegations. He was introduced to the girls through a broker. They were paid a wage of 1,200 yen per hour, according to the Mainichi Shimbun (Nov. 25).

Mori is a member of the Osaka-based Takumi-gumi, which is an affiliate gang of the recently formed Kobe Yamaguchi-gumi.
