OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police are investigating two car-ramming incidents that are believed to be connected to last year’s dissolution of the Yamaguchi-gumi organized crime group, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Mar. 16).

At approximately 3:15 a.m. on Wednesday, a truck slammed into the entrance door of an office of the Kodo-kai, an affiliate gang of the Yamaguchi-gumi, in the Kamishimacho area of Kadoma City. According to eyewitnesses, several men dressed in black clothing then jumped out of the vehicle and into a van before fleeing the scene.

About three hours later, another truck rammed the entrance of an office of the Yamaken-gumi, an affiliate gang of the Kobe Yamaguchi-gumi, in Moriguchi City.

There were no injuries in either attack.

Police are viewing the incidents as a part of the ongoing feud between the Yamaguchi-gumi and the Kobe Yamaguchi-gumi that has escalated in recent weeks. The Kobe Yamaguchi-gumi formed following the dissolution of the Yamaguchi-gumi last summer.
